If you’re like most people, you probably have at least one ISO image of your computer system stored on a virtual drive. This is a convenient way to keep an image of your computer system around in case something goes wrong and you need to restore it. But what if you want to use multiple ISO images of your computer system on different machines? You can do this by using a virtual clone drive. A clone drive is a device that copies the contents of one or more hard drives into another device. This can be useful if you want to keep multiple hard drives around so that you can easily restore them if something goes wrong. To create a clone drive, first create a new folder on your hard drive. Then copy the contents of the “Windows 7 Home Premium x64” ISO file into this new folder. The “Windows 7 Home Premium x64” ISO file is the same as the one that was used to create the original computer system. Now open up Windows Explorer and go to the “Clone Drive” option under “My Computer.” Click on the “Create Clone Drive” button and enter in the path to your original hard drive where you copied the “Windows 7 Home Premium x64” ISO file into. Click on OK to create the clone drive and start copying files from it into your new folder on your hard drive.

The thing I love about this application is how simple it is to mount an ISO… you just double-click it, and it’s mounted.

To add an extra virtual drive, go to your start menu, and launch Virtual CloneDrive from there. Change the dropdown for the number of drives to the number that you want.

When you double-click on an ISO image, it will always mount it in the first drive. If you want to mount a particular ISO in one of the other virtual drives, you need to open My Computer and right-click on the drive.

Choose Virtual CloneDrive from the menu, and then Mount. You’ll be prompted to pick the path to the ISO image.

If you want to unmount a drive, you can do the same thing but choose the Unmount option.

Note: This software does not work in Vista 64 bit edition.
