Google Chrome is a popular web browser and one of the most popular browsers in use today. It’s also a powerful tool that you can use to do some pretty amazing things. One of its features is that it can automatically turn off live captions in web pages and videos. This is great for people who don’t want to hear someone else’s commentary on a video or page, or for people who want to keep their content private. There are a few ways to do this, but the easiest way is to open up Google Chrome and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the window that say “Tools.” Then, under “Tools,” click on “Options.” Now, under “Options,” you’ll see a box called “Live Captions.” In this box, you’ll see three options: On, Off, and Disabled. On means that live captions will be turned off for the page or video you’re working on. Off means that they will still be turned off, but they won’t be displayed at all. Disabled means that live captions will not be turned off for any page or video ever again. If you’re using Google Chrome on your computer and you want to turn off live captions in all of your pages and videos, then you’ll need to choose On from the box next to “Live Captions.” If you’re using Google Chrome on your phone or tablet, then you’ll need to choose Off from the box next to “Live Captions.”

Are you not a big fan of Google Chrome’s Live Captions, which displays the text version of your media files? If so, it’s easy to turn this feature off both temporarily and permanently. We’ll show you how to do just that.

Temporarily Disable Chrome’s Live Captions

You can turn off Chrome’s Live Captions for a specific playback session while keeping it enabled for all other sessions.

To close the live captions when they’re displayed, in the top-right corner of Chrome’s Live Captions box, click the “X” icon.

Live captions will immediately disappear from your screen, and you can enjoy your media playback without any interruptions.

To get the live captions back, refresh your web page.

Permanently Stop Chrome’s Live Captions

If you don’t wish to see live captions for any of your media playbacks in Chrome, turn the feature off permanently and it won’t bother you anymore.

To do that, from Chrome’s top-right corner, select the three dots.

In the three-dots menu, click “Settings.”

On the “Settings” screen, from the left sidebar, select “Advanced.”

In the expanded “Advanced” menu, click “Accessibility.”

On the right pane, in the “Accessibility” pane, turn off the “Live Caption” option.

And you’re all set. Going forward, Chrome won’t display any captions for your media playbacks in the browser. Enjoy!
