If you’re a musician, you know that the ability to tune your guitar is essential for making the most of your music. But if you’re not a musician, or if you don’t have an Amazon Echo, there’s a good chance that you can still tune your guitar without any help. The first thing that you need to do is get an Echo device. You can buy them online or from some music stores. Once you have an Echo device, it’s time to start tuning your guitar. To do this, first open the Echo app on your phone or computer. Then type in “guitar tuning” and press return. The app will show you a list of chords that are compatible with your Echo device. You’ll need to find the chord that corresponds to the fret number on your guitar. For example, if you have a G string on your guitar and fret number 6 is used for G7th chords, then the chord would be G7th chord tuning with an Echo device would be C6th chord tuning (C6 being one of the chords in G7th). Once you’ve found the right chord and fret number for your guitar, just press play and wait for the echo to show what note it has played so far on that particular string. This will give you a good idea of how well-tuned your guitar is so far! If all goes well, after some time (usually about 10 minutes)you’ll see a message in the echo saying “Guitar tuned.” If everything goes wrong - if there are any problems with either of the strings on your guitar - then eventually (usually within 2 hours)the echo will say “Guitar not tuned.” In either case, just try again later when everything has been fixed!

To set up this Skill, you’ll need to go into the Alexa app on your phone and tap on the sidebar menu button in the top-left corner of the screen.

Tap on “Skills”.

In the search box at the top, type in “guitar”.

Once it’s enabled and ready to go, you’ll see “Disable” instead of “Enable”.

Alexa will then play each string four times and move onto the next string. It goes kind of quickly, so your tuning adjustment skills will need to be top notch.

If your guitar is severely out of tune, I’d recommend just using a proper tuner, or ask Alexa to tune your guitar again, making finer and finer adjustments with each go-through until your guitar is fully tuned.
